Approximately 200 Schools from Kocaeli Competed Fiercely in the Knowledge Competition
Continuing its support for education, Çolakoğlu Metalurji organized the “Traditional Inter-Middle School Knowledge and Culture Competition” under the auspices of the Kocaeli Governorship and in cooperation with the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education. The grand finale was held at the Kocaeli Congress Center.
The event, which has become a tradition as part of the National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations on April 23, attracted significantly greater interest this year compared to previous years, with participation from approximately 200 schools across 12 districts of Kocaeli. Bringing together students from all around Kocaeli, the competition turned into a meaningful gathering filled with knowledge, excitement, and competition.
In the competition, 12 schools that ranked first in their respective districts advanced to the finals. Students competed intensely in the categories of Turkish, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and General Knowledge. Throughout the final program, the students’ performances created great excitement in the hall and gave the audience moments of pride.
The program was attended by many distinguished guests, including Emrullah Aydın, members of the Kocaeli provincial protocol, executives from Çolakoğlu Metalurji, representatives from the education community, and numerous invitees.
In his speech, Emrullah Aydın thanked Çolakoğlu Metalurji "Çolakoğlu Metalurji for its contributions to education and stated that the competition and institutional cooperation added significant value to the educational ecosystem. He emphasized that such organizations contribute not only to students’ academic development but also to their social and cultural growth. He also thanked all teachers and administrators involved and congratulated the participating students.
In her speech, Seda Demirel Yıldırım stated that throughout its more than eighty-year history, Çolakoğlu Metalurji has regarded contributing not only to industry and the economy but also to education, youth, and social development as an important part of its corporate responsibility. Emphasizing that they believe investment in education is the most valuable investment in the future, Yıldırım expressed their satisfaction in continuing to support organizations that contribute to the development of young people.
As part of the final program, a mehter performance by the Kartepe Turkish-French Brotherhood Middle School Mehter Band added a special sense of enthusiasm to the event.
At the end of the competition, Çayırova Private Güneş Middle School won first place, Derince Fatih Middle School came second, and Darıca Deniz Yıldızları Middle School placed third. The successful students received great appreciation for their performances.
At the conclusion of the competition, which Çolakoğlu Metalurji continues under its corporate social legacy approach, prizes such as laptops, tablets, printers, and bicycles were presented by the company to the students and schools ranking in the top three.
