Çolakoğlu Metalurji Achieves a B Score at the “Management Level” in CDP
Çolakoğlu Metalurji has successfully completed its first-ever reporting process under the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), one of the world’s most widely recognized and reputable climate reporting platforms. Within the scope of the 2025 CDP Climate Change Program, the company earned a B score, placing it at the “Management” level—a significant achievement that has been reached by only a limited number of companies in the steel industry.
Çolakoğlu Metalurji has demonstrated that its climate management approach, risk and opportunity analyses, emissions management systems, and governance structure are strongly aligned with international standards by obtaining a B score in its first participation in CDP reporting. This achievement carries even greater strategic importance amid accelerating decarbonization efforts in the steel sector, the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and the increasingly critical role of climate performance in accessing finance.
CDP's comprehensive data requirements and detailed evaluation criteria assess companies' preparedness for climate risks, emissions, and supply chain management, providing a holistic view of their overall sustainability performance. Today, a CDP score is a transparency indicator for investors, financial institutions and customers, as well as being a key criterion in commercial evaluations and supplier selection processes.
Çolakoğlu Metalurji's score in the CDP demonstrates that the company views climate change as a strategic competitive advantage and a driver of commercial resilience, not merely a compliance issue.
Looking ahead, the company intends to reinforce its existing climate and sustainability infrastructure, enhance its CDP performance, and continue its journey of climate leadership with determination.
